The Gary Pollard Memorial Scholarship is presented by the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble as a tribute to one of the most caring and influential musicians in the ensemble’s history.  The scholarship will recognize a trumpet student from grades 7-12 who makes a strong contribution to his/her school community, has demonstrated consistent musical achievement, and has had a significant impact on their peers, ensembles and overall program.  

 

Manitoba band directors are invited to submit a nomination by providing a supporting letter (up to 500 words), which indicates how the applicant has met the eligibility criteria.  The $500.00 award is to be used for private instruction, camp tuition, or a purpose as proposed by the student and approved by the awards committee.  

 

The scholarship will be presented at the final Winnipeg Wind Ensemble performance of the season.
